August rumours: new iMac and updated iPod

We’re 2 days away from August so we might as well get into it. ThinkSecret has been saying that the new iMacs and iLife suite will drop on 7 August. Meanwhile, 9to5mac.com independently posted update also claiming that 7 August was the date for the new iMacs and probably new iPods.

The new iMacs are said to feature a new brushed metal skin, something along the lines of the MacBook Pro and Mac Pro. I’m not sure why they would make the consumer desktop look like their Pro hardware, but I must say that a brushed-metal iMac sounds very appealing.

Google phone the would be iPhone killer?

Engadget had confirmed that a ‘phone’ is one of the 18 R&D initiative the company, Google Inc., is currently underway.

There are also a rumour of a device resulted from the collaboration between Google and Samsung (see attached picture) that looks a little bit like the iPhone.

Tablet Mac? iTablet?

Smarthouse out of Australia reports that Apple may be unveiling a Mac tablet with docking station in mid 2007. According to the blog, Taiwanese manufacturers are bidding to turn Apple’s full-working prototype into production at the moment.

Smarthouse goes on to say
