Malaysia developers invading iTunes App Store
Malaysia Boleh!
myMacBUZZ has heard of at least two Malaysian developers who have created iPhone/iPod touch apps. Jason Khong of Apptivity Lab has the distinction of the being the first Malaysian to have an app listed in the iTunes App Store. Adrian Lo of The Wabbit Studio has his app in the approval process and should be listed anytime soon too.
Jason’s app, Mistletoe (iTunes link) is a toy app with a sprig of mistletoe that sways as you move your iPhone. Pretty useful during this Christmas season no? We haven’t got our hands on it yet, but do check out the MYCocoaHeads blog for more info.
Adrian’s app is called Shizi that converts Chinese and Hong Kong measurement units for length, area, volume & mass to Imperial and Metric units. Definitely useful for businesses dealing a lot with Chinese suppliers and/or vendors. Shizi is still in review and myMacBUZZ is keeping our fingers crossed that the iTunes approval gods will let Shizi through quick.
As a Malaysian Apple user, I’m proud to see that our local devs are also contributing to the iTunes ecosystem. Here’s hoping that we’ll see more local developers and their apps soon!
For those of you interested in developing iPhone/iPod touch apps too, you have to check out the MYCocoaHeads blog and follow @mycocoaheads on Twitter.

Watch for my app coming in the next few months
Friedbeef has more reasons now since he owns a new iphone eh!
@Friedbeef you writing an iPhone app too? Can share details?
I don’t have the skillz to write one, so I shared my idea to a developer in the US, and we have struck an agreement where it will be developed for on his side at no cost to me, with a profit share model. I also handle marketing, product development, and support.
Will let you have a free copy when we’re done. I can’t say more at this point because of my deal with the developers….
but we’re hoping it’s going to be something really big…
Hey good stuff man. Looking forward to it!
