Epicentre, the Apple Premium reseller based in Pavilion KL, celebrated its 1 year anniversary in Malaysia recently. myMacBUZZ sat down with its friendly General Manager, Mr LC Goh, for a chat to find out what’s going on with EpiCentre.

EpiCentre is a relative newcomer to the Malaysian Apple Reseller scene and has limited distribution compared to some larger reseller chains. However, what Epicentre lacks in outlets it makes up for in spirit and great service.

What struck me during my conversation with Mr Goh is that Epicentre is very supportive of the local Mac community. Epicentre is happy to offer their training room for all sorts of events, ranging from myMUG MacFests, MYCocoaHeads developer trainings and photography workshops, and they recently spearheaded the Mac + iPod Discovery Week in Pavilion last weekend. You get the feeling that there’s always something going on at Epicentre.

“We don’t see EpiCentre as a retail outlet. We see it as a place where people can come to learn and exchange their Apple experiences with one another. We’re not about selling you a product. We are here to help you love it!” says LC.

LC says that there are no plans to open more outlets in the near future, and EpiCentre is instead focusing on improving their service with innovations like their Epic Service Packages. For those new to the Mac, it’s comforting to know that you can always get someone to answer all your questions on the phone or even with house calls when you sign up for these packages. And if you travel to Singapore often, the Singapore stores will also be ready to support you.

“We are also introducing the ‘EpiCentre Exchange Program’, whereby customers can post ads of their Macs and iPods for sale at our store Exchange board.” LC explains that you can get great deals with the exchange program, but also have peace of mind with the Epic Service Packages.
