I’ve stumbled upon this article few days ago, an iPhone user reported that he discovered how to remedy crashing incoming calls for iPhone running firmware 2.1 (possible for any firmware). It appears that the contact info was corrupted, causing incoming call during sleep mode crashing the iPhone, Contact app launch slowly and jerky during scrolling.

He also kind enough to share with us how to “sort-of” pick up the corrupted contact. Launch your Contact app, browse to each contact’s details. Whenever the contact took longer to load (he mentioned over 8 seconds) that might be your corrupted entry. Simply delete that particular contact and recreate it will solve the problem. But it’s painful if you have a lot (yes, I mean a lot) of contacts. I’ve done mine over the weekend.
