I love TextMate, it is my editor of choice when I do some web development, it is what I use to note things down. It is your swiss army knife of a text editor.

TextMate has a very nice theming engine where you could customize your syntax. I love playing with TextMate’s theme, you know just to spice things up. There is a new website that just hit the TextMate theme scene that I’m very pleased about. Check out TM Theme. You could download theme, rate them and even comment on them.

In TextMate, you could just drag a folder (of a project you are working on) to TextMate to open it. Someone (The Pug Automatic) has even simplified the process by creating a simple script called “Open in TextMate” that you could place as a toolbar button on your finder. It allows you to open the current folder or selection from Finder as a TextMate project.
