Weekend of Leopard: Safari 3.0

Safari 3 has been out for awhile in beta. Some of might had already download and played around with the beta release.

With Safari 3.0, I did notice a speed increase in page rendering. Then again it’s too early to tell as I might still be in the Steveness reality distortion field, and the feeling of faster page rendering might just be a placebo effect cause of Steve saying it is fast.

Safari 3 also did bring in some improvements but still manage to keep it’s UI clean. I like what they do with the find feature. How it jumped and highlight the words. It’s not much different from other browser find feature, just Apple being Apple in the aesthetics department.

On the tab browser department Apple did some catching up with the others. You can now move tab around, move tab to a new window, save a bookmark of all your tab, merge all window.

New PDF controls lets you view PDF in Safari as you normally would in Preview.

Create instant Dashboard widgets of snippets from your favorite website with web clip, represented with a button on Safari.

I’m glad they took the time to improve Safari but still keep it’s looks as simple and minimalists as possible.
