If it’s not going to be an official Apple store, it doesn’t change anything.
I want my Malaysia Apple Store, damnit!
Any store that can offer more than basic selection of Apple products, laptop bags and a few boxes of old mac games can only be an improvement.
I couldn’t enter the Epicentre at 11.15am on 20 Sept 07, just after the KL Pavillion soft opening as the roller shutters were shut and a notice stating that the shop would be opened in the afternoon. I noticed 3 men in the shop playing with the displays and took no notice of anybody outside wanting to come in.
I checked the store again at 12pm, 12.30pm and 1pm and it still wasn’t opened and the 3 men were still playing with the displays. I left in frustration and went to make my purchases with machines in Mid Valley Megamall.
Epicentre may won awards in Singapore but I don’t see it will happen here in malaysia.
basically we are on stock take… we will not open the shop till it schedule to a certain time… sorry for the inconveniece cause…
I agree with Danny - if there isn’t going to be a real Apple Store opening here, it doesn’t really make a difference!
It’s just confusing with all the resellers… at least with a real Apple store, the service would be consistent, the staff would be properly trained (the Apple way) and we would start getting all the products that are generally available in the US!
Plus it would help Malaysia get it’s own Apple website where we can order products online and our own iTunes store! So many of the features in the new OS require iTunes to be available in the country. For example, there’s no point buying the iTV device because half of it is the interaction with an iTunes store! sigh WHEN DAMMIT, WHEN?!
