Malaysian prices for iPod classic, iPod nano and iPod shuffle
Good news! I just heard from machines and CG Computers with news on Malaysian prices for the new iPods.

iPod classic SRP (Silver and black)
- 80GB: RM1,099
- 160GB: RM1,499
iPod nano SRP (Silver, blue, green, black)
- 8GB: RM829
- 4GB: RM619 (silver only)
iPod shuffle SRP (Silver, blue, green, purple)
- 1GB: RM349
You’ll be able to find the new iPods at CG in Penang this evening and at machines on Monday.
But what about the iPod touch? Unfortunately, the iPod touch will only be available by the end of this month, say sources. Still don’t know about its price, but check back or subscribe to our feed to find out!

I will be going to Machines on Monday.
Any idea what time do they have it? Or they’ll stock it in Sunday and it will be available monday morning?
I guess they don’t carry the Product Red iPod.

I’ve been going to machines Mid Valley to ask for the iPod fatty since Saturday and they still don’t have it in stock. It’s already Tuesday.
According to the staff there, the new iPods “maybe will arrive at the end of the month”.
A bit dissapointed at machines as they should be one of the first to get it, being an Apple Premium Seller and one of the largest Apple retailer in Malaysia. Other sellers like MacStudio has stocks of it already but I prefer machines as they are closer to my house compared to MacStudio in Lowyat Plaza and also their Premium Seller status.
I guess you better update your entry on the availability of the new iPods in machine as the first entry of “ipod nano availability malaysia” Google search leads to this post.

Are the new iPods available already? I thought they would only be here at the end of September? If they are, can anyone tell me where to get them?
I saw there’s new poster on machines website.
30GB of iPod for RM899. 80GB for RM999.
Is it the real price or what?
I can’t see it clearly. Blur on the price shown.
Hi guys,
Just got off the phone with machines. They confirmed that the new iPods have arrived just today (Wednesday, 12 Sept). No reason given why they were late.
I hope you don’t think that I wanted to mislead anyone, I just posted what the exec director told me.
Btw, no solid news on when the iPod touch will arrive in Malaysia, but sources say it should arrive in M’sia at the same time it’s introduced in the US (end Sept).
@Ayie the offer you see are for the *old* iPod models. They’re still a great deal, I would buy the 30GB iPod.
dropped by machines at midvalley noon today and saw the new batch of ipod classic and fatty nanos on the display shelves already. wanted to get the previous version of the ipod (5.5g with 80gb) since they’re offering it at rm999 now but they’re all sold out apparently. bummer. i’m holding out from getting the new ipod classic for now as i’ve read in some places about the sluggishness of the ui (http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/the-ipod-gets-a-makeover-a-review-of-the-ipod-nano-and-ipod-classic.ars/4). know any other places you think that would have the 5.5g ipod on clearance offer, dude?
David,
I understand you are just the “messenger” and I am not blaming it on you…hehe…
Anyway, I don’t know if u know about this, there is an official launch of the new iPods tomorrow in Hotel Maya. It’s a media only event (you could try as mymacbuzz is also kinda like media). My colleague will be attending the event (I can’t as I have other stuff to do). Hope they’ll bring in a few units of the touch and also offer a media price for the nano. Not going to buy from machines anymore.
@dj really dunno man. Those are official discounted prices from Apple, so any reseller with iPods left are allowed to sell at that price. Just check out any other resellers.
@Justin no I didn’t know abt the media event. Can you ask your friend to tell their PR guys to put me on their mailing list?

hi danial, yes i think machines has iPod service. but why don’t you borrow a friend’s earphones and test with that first? maybe its the earphones that rosak, easier to fix that than the audio jack.
