Apple has released several software updates that you want to make sure you pick up.

Mac OS X 10.4.10

First up is OS X 10.4.10 for Intel and PowerPC Macs. This package comes together with a security update. Among other things, this update improves:

• Support for Bluetooth headsets
• Adds RAW image decoding support for more cameras
• Improves reliability when mounting external USB hard drives.
• Improves security for networking

Please remember that you should back up your Mac before performing software updates and that it’s a good idea to repair permissions first too.

YouTube support for AppleTV

Apple also released an update for the Apple TV that adds the YouTube functionality that Steve Jobs demonstrated at the D conference. Apple also announced that YouTube would be available on the iPhone.

The Apple TV update adds:

• A new iTunes Store section to the main menu
• Ability to use iPhoto slideshow’s for Apple TV’s screensaver
• New Parental Controls
