Apple’s new line-up of MacBook Pros are now available in all local resellers. The new MacBooks feature the new Intel Santa Rosa chipset and revised prices.

The three standard configurations and prices for the MacBook Pros are:

• 15.4-inch 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo @ RM7,499
• 15.4-inch 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo @ RM9,299
• 17-inch 2.4GHz core 2 Duo @ RM10,499

The 15.4-inch models are also the first Apple portables to feature the mercury-free, LED-backlit displays. Not only are these displays more environmental-friendly, but they are also more energy efficient and help save battery life.

Speaking of displays, the 17-inch MacBook Pro now come with the option of a super high resolution 1900×1200 display. CG Computers CEO Li Chau Ging says that these MacBooks are custom orders and customers must pay an additional RM380 upfront when they order. Delivery period is 2 weeks.

Besides the new displays, all three models now come with 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards, 8X SuperDrive and AirPort Extreme 802.11n standard(no more of that USD1.99 upgrade nonsense) as standard features.

If you’re considering a MacBook Pro and don’t want to mortgage your car in the process, you can also take advantage of the older 2.16GHz and 2.33GHz models that are now being sold at reduced prices at local resellers like machines and MacStudio. Numbers are limited so be sure to look them up soon.
