The team here have been busy so myMacBUZZ is a little behind on the news. Here’s a quick update on the news of the week.
Today (Sunday) is the final day to suggest a feature for MYCocoaHeads’ Get Back To Work Project. Be sure to tell us the features you’d like to see in the app we’re building in the forums.Apple tops Businessweek’s 50 Most Innovative Companies list for the third year in a row. Trailing Apple were Google and Toyota in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the list compiled from surveys of senior executives worldwide.
Steve Jobs pens another article on the Apple website titled “A Greener Apple”. The article responds to claims by environmentalist groups about Apple’s environmental practices. Steve says that “in many cases Apple is ahead of, or will soon be ahead of, most of its competitors in these areas.” Worth a read for a peek into Apple’s product roadmap.Steve also confirmed that Macs with LED backlighting will be introduced this year in the article above. The LED backlights will provide better screen lighting and color saturation, better energy efficiency and longer screen life. AppleInsider says that an update to the 15-inch MacBook Pro due this year will be the first Mac with LED backlights.
PC World Editor-in-Chief Harry McCracken has quit over a draft article titled “Ten Things We Hate About Apple”. Apparently PC World’s parent company IDG told McCracken to can the article in a bid to prevent Apple who is a major advertiser for IDG publications from getting upset. The story broke on Wired while Daring Fireball has got some interesting things to say.
