For those of you MacBook and MacBook Pro owners who have been experiencing problems with their batteries, Apple has issued a fix for you. This Battery Update will help fix issues that cause your MacBook to not recognise the battery when it’s plugged in, batteries not charging, reporing a low charge even though its been fully charged and deformed battery packs.

Apple says that these issues are not a safety risk and that you can continue using your battery safely (unlike the exploding battery episode), but you definitely want to grab this update anyway. If you’ve installed the update and your MacBook or MacBook Pro is still experiencing battery problems, you’ll be eligible for a free replacement battery, even if your machine is out of warranty.
