Looks like good times ahead for Apple

Apple has just announced its fourth quarter results, reporting that it shipped a record 1.61 million Macs and 8.7 million iPods for that quarter.

The announcement didn’t say anything about who bought the Macs, but I bet that they’ve been getting lots of new switchers, following their move to Intel and popular Get a Mac ad campaign.

I was also interested to learn that

Apple’s Asia Pacific (and FileMaker Inc) accounted for 102,000 Mac sales and $330 million in revenues. These figures are up 50 percent and 37 percent year-over-year. Sequentially, unit sales rose 15 percent in the Asia Pacific regions and revenues increased 7 percent. (emphasis mine)

Great news, but perhaps it’s expected as local resellers have reported the majority of buyers for new Macs have Windows switchers. With the increase of Apple users in the Asia Pacific, hopefully we will start seeing more Apple marketing activities here in Malaysia.
