Malaysia’s largest Apple reseller machines had its official launch at its Mid Valley Megamall outlet today.

It wasn’t like the Apple Store openings in the US, but I thought today’s launch was really great all the same. All 2,700 sq ft of the store was crowded with customers – Mac users and new to Mac alike. I also liked the cheerful decorations and the live demos.

There was one dude who was totally rocking out recording a one-man-band song on the 24" iMac and and another who was demonstrating drawing on a Wacom tablet. Too bad I didn’t have my camera – all I had was my camera phone.

machines’ 50% off 5 at 5 promotion had a good response too. All 5 seats were taken in the queue. I have to take my hat off to these hardcore iPod fans. Respect!

Also spotted at the launch: Azul, Azizi, Moriaz, Jeyadev and William from myMUG. No Macfest this month but you can’t keep us from meeting up!

If you’ve still not yet paid a visit to machines, please go. It’s a really nice store with the whole line of Apple consumer products for you to play with – everything from the iPod shuffle to the Macbooks to the Mac Pro. Name it and they have it – iPod compatible multimedia speakers, pouches and sleeves, Crumpler bags, Wacom tablets, external drives, all the cables and converters you’ll need and a big rack of software.

The staff are also really friendly and will love to show you how everything works. Just speak to store manager Benny (left) and he’ll hook you up.

Last of all, myMacBUZZ just wants to say congratulations to Andrew, Dylan, Angela and Kenneth (whom I didn’t meet), the directors of machines, congratulations on a successful launch. Here’s wishing you guys lots of success and a big increase in the number of Mac users in Malaysia.
