Leopard to be previewed at WWDC

Apple announced yesterday that Steve Jobs and other Apple bigwigs will preview the next version of OS X 10.5 Leopard at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in a keynote address on 7 July 2006. This keynote will finally give an accurate insight into the features of Leopard and should put to rest months of speculation on whether there will be some sort of virtualisation technology that allows users to run Windoze applications natively in OS X. By then we should also see some official screenshots, and not the fakes that got me so worked up…

The press release doesn’t offer any information of when Leopard will be officially released to the public, but I’d say that there’s a strong chance that it’ll cross the line even before the much-delayed Windows Vista. Sorry, I couldn’t resist the opportunity for a Windows jibe…
